At Pyshki iz Detstva, “Pyshki from Childhood”, a pyshka costs 40 ₽. Alongside it you will find specialty coffee, signature teas, lemonades, milkshakes and sets for sharing.
Looking for “St. Petersburg donuts”? The local classic is the pyshka, a hot yeast ring dusted with powdered sugar and one of the must-try things in St. Petersburg. Take one straight from the fryer, add condensed milk or jam and a big cup of signature tea. That is where the menu begins, and it is already reason enough to drop in. After that come coffee, lemonades, milkshakes and a few things you won't find in an ordinary pyshki café.
Everything on this menu at Pyshki iz Detstva® is made right in front of you. The pyshki are cooked on a restored Soviet machine by the counter: the dough dispenser drops a ring of dough into hot oil, and it travels round the carousel, turning golden on both sides. Coffee is made on an espresso machine, and our signature teas and lemonades are mixed with fresh syrups and herbs. Nothing is made in advance and nothing comes out of a packet. It is all fresh and piping hot.
The star of the show is the pyshka itself. The real thing: crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, covered in powdered sugar. It is light rather than heavy, because hot oil seals it in a second and it bakes through like bread. It is delicious on its own, and plenty of people eat it just like that.
Take one pyshka to try, but don't wander off too far. You will be back for more.
When there are lots of you, or you simply want to stock up, go for a set. The “bonus” pyshki are on the house.
A mountain of hot pyshki in the middle of the table and a drink for everyone. That is how most groups do it.

A pyshka tastes best hot, but in our branded box it will make it home and become a genuine souvenir of St. Petersburg, a taste everyone back home will remember. We pack it while you wait.
Menu prices are a guide and may vary slightly from one café to another. Check the current prices on site or call the café. The pyshka itself is the same everywhere, the real one, made on a Soviet machine.
The menu reads best with a hot pyshka in your hand. We have three cafés in central St. Petersburg, so pick whichever is handiest and come along. Whether you go to the one by Moskovsky railway station, on Malaya Sadovaya St. or by Sennaya Square, the pyshki are just as fresh.
